Longview Farm is a magnificent location for those seeking a historic and picturesque country setting in upstate New York for a wedding, large event or retreat. Situated on 200 acres in the heart of the Finger Lakes region, this historic, 225-year-old Italianate farmhouse and guest house are surrounded by black walnut trees and enchanting perennial gardens — this is a prime location for tented candlelit parties suitable for 150 guests. Walking trails wind through the property, extending through lush rolling fields of hay, corn, and oats. The sweeping views of nearby Finger Lakes farms provide the perfect countryside backdrop for any event.

Longview Farm has been meticulously maintained and improved, over the last 25 years by the entire Joerger family. The Main Hall is a renovated timber frame barn that features 16-foot ceilings with exposed beams, windows by the plenty and a large fireplace that evoke a warm, country feeling. The house itself features original moldings and wood floors; if walls could talk. The kitchen boasts granite countertops, two dishwashers, two ovens, a large kitchen island and a farmhouse table that comfortably seats 24 for the ultimate banquet celebration.

Each season brings a new and special distinction to the estate. Summer is alive with technicolor green; spring flourishes with beautiful magnolia tree blossoms; autumn brings fresh apples on the trees and grapes hanging on the vine; and winter is awash with a stark elegance. Sunsets on the farm, with the light dabbling through the trees and the cornfields and the occasional herd of deer jumping through the hayfields, make for an incredible experience.

The property offers a total of eight incredible bedrooms that embrace the estate’s rustic country charm. The main house features five bedrooms — one on the first floor, four on the second floor — with either a queen bed or twin beds that can be combined — and five-and-a-half attached bathrooms with a tub/shower combo. The Italian renaissance farm house features a Cupola with sweeping views of the countryside. The guest house, a beautifully converted barn, features three bedrooms and three bathrooms, including a bridal suite with a soaking tub, custom shower system. Finishing off the guest house is a chefs kitchen and a fireplace.

The farm alone is entertainment enough for the entire weekend. Inside the farmhouse, you’ll find recreation such as a billiards table, plasma screen television, piano and WiFi. Outside, the garden is the ideal spot for late night campfires and s’mores, and watching movies projected on the side of the barn. Venturing just outside the property leads to more than 100 wineries, farmer’s markets, hiking in the Finger Lakes National Forest and on the Finger Lakes Trail and scenic waterfalls in Ithaca at Taughannock Falls State Park and Robert. H. Treman State Park and in Watkins Glen at Watkins Glen State Park, nearby shopping and farm-to-table restaurants.
